Here you can find answers to the most frequently asked questions.

What do we gain by choosing Soffio wall heating panels?

We gain many benefits, and above all health, because we breathe in air which is not too dry and free from dust and allergens. There is also a wide selection of floor types, the lack of heaters and clean walls. In addition, we are saving on costs of energy used for heating, up to 39%.

What do we guarantee during the 30 years of using Soffio panels?

We guarantee maintenance of panel’s heating parameters for at least 30 years.

What type of heat source is needed to supply Soffio panels - does it have to be a gas furnace?

Any heat source (heat pumps, gas condensing boilers and high-temperature solid fuel boilers) can supply our wall heating system of Soffio panels.

What happens when we exceed the acceptable flow temperature of 80℃?

The structure of the panels is resistant to high temperatures, even above 100℃. However, it may be necessary to limit the flow temperature due to thermal resistance of installation materials connected to the panels.

Can the panels work together with water underfloor heating?

Yes. Soffio wall heating panel system can perfectly complement the underfloor heating system and work the same time, in series in one circuit, however the supply should be from the side of the wall panels.

Can we install panels horizontally?

The “heat pipe” used in Soffio panels has been designed to operate in a vertical layout to maximally increase heating output. Its deviation by 10° in respect to the level ensures full efficiency of the system which allows assembly on sloped surfaces of attics. However, it is not suitable for use in the case of flat surfaces such as ceilings and floors.

Do the Soffio panels have to be separated from the wall?

Due to thermal reasons there is no need to separate the panels from the wall. However, according to construction techniques, improvement of thermal insulation of the building is not an obstacle with our panels.

Is our panel going to cool if we put cold water into the circuit of Soffio system?

No. If only cold water circulates in the system of central heating, no phase transition of the substance locked in the panel takes place and no thermal effect is achieved, and the temperature of the panel remains the same.

Can the panels be cut to the desired dimensions?

No. There is a system of heat distribution installed over almost the entire surface of the panel and any attempt of cutting may damage it. The width of 600 mm and availability of panels with a height of 1240 mm with a possibility to shorten the height to 750 mm eliminates any need to cut them.

What happens when we damage (drill through) the internal radiation element (pipe)?

Radiation elements (pipes), placed inside the panel, are made of thick-walled aluminum profiles, difficult to drill through with a normal drill. Nevertheless, damage of one pipe will result in release of a very small amount of harmless substance and stop of its operation. The remaining 6 pipes will still work.

Is it possible to check where the pipes are located in the panel?

Such a need may arise when planning to mount a locker or shelf on a wall. To locate the arrangement of pipes, one would have to use a pyrometer or thermal camera during the heating season. However, this is not necessary because the pipe is located a few millimeters below the surface of the soft plasterboard. When piercing the selected spot with a sharp tool you can check if there is a pipe without fear of damaging it.

Can lockers, shelves, paintings be hanged on panels?

The mechanical resistance of panels is not lower than that of original plasterboards. Therefore you can hang lockers, shelves and paintings on them using accessories appropriate for a dry construction. The risk of damaging the heating elements is negligible because a concrete drill will slide down the circular, thick-wall pipe.

Can we block the wall with panels with furniture?

Soffio wall panels operate mainly through radiation, therefore blocking it with furniture will slightly limit the effect of the feeling of warmth. However, in a closed room it does not have an impact on temperature regulation because the covering furniture, while absorbing the heat, after some time will itself become a source of heat.

Will streaks appear on the panels like on walls above ordinary heaters?

Due to the fact that in wall heating the heating elements are distributed over a large area, the temperature of walls is only a few degrees higher than the temperature of the air, thanks to which it does not circulate as in case of traditional heaters. Dust does not float and so our system does not get the walls dirty.

Do the applied paints, adhesives, wallpapers have to be of a special type?

The temperature of walls in a heating season never exceeds 30℃, therefore there are no specific requirements regarding the applied adhesives, wallpapers or paints.

Are the panels going to crack?

Mechanical properties of panels are identical to the parameters of plasterboards. Correct assembly and normal use which is intended for dry constructions gives long-term warranty of an unchanged structure of panels.

What happens when deposits build up in a collector?

Modern heating systems require the use of water of appropriate quality in a circuit, not containing dissolved substances which may build up in the form of limescale. Therefore the build-up of limestone in a collector of our panel is unlikely. Soffio panels do not have properties causing the build-up of limescale; however, using agents for removing limescale does not pose a threat to the durability of the product.

What is the heating radius of a panel?

The effect of radiation is felt even at a distance of 4 m.
